UPS
Supply Chain Solutions in Atlanta, Georgia is a contract
warehousing solution for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Engines. They
are responsible to put together all of the parts required to build
an aircraft engine and ship the complete package to the various
assembly plants worldwide for final assembly. They also are
responsible to pick and ship engine replacement parts to all of the
airlines using Pratt and Whitney engines for repair and maintenance.
This operation demands excellence in warehousing practices,
security, handling and packaging. The operation is so critical that
they have full time in-house Pratt and Whitney Quality
Representatives that continually oversight the operations.
Additionally, their facility in Atlanta is fully secure including
tight entrance security, walk-through metal detectors and full
package and briefcase inspections.
UPS Supply Chain Solutions must meet the same challenging Pratt and
Whitney quality specifications as do the manufacturers of the parts.
CIS was introduced as a solution three months ago and after testing
and trial software runs, UPS Supply Chain Solutions has become yet
another valued customer using our software and the online features.
Pratt and Whitney quality personnel have full access on-line to
their CIS Software and can monitor their paperwork trails, quality
decisions and much more.
The
Shippers Group was certified to ISO 9001:2000 in October 2008. We
received the following e-mail from their ISO 9001 Management
Representative:
"Good News, we are approved for certification for ISO 9001:2000.
Your CIS system works great!"
We believe that these three simple words says it all "It Works
Great".

Michigan Aerospace Manufacturers Association Selects
Total Quality Management Systems as Preferred Vendor
Grand Rapids, Michigan, June
XX, 2008—The
Michigan Aerospace Manufacturers Association (MAMA) has named Total
Quality Management Systems (TQMS) to its preferred vendor network.
TQMS is the developer and provider of the Continuous
Improvement Systems (CIS) software system, a web-based paperless
management solution for use by customers via the Internet. A cross
platform automated management system, CIS is designed to cover the
entire enterprise from ISO to human resource management to planning
to purchasing, etc. It
tracks nonconformities, customer complaints, near misses and
corrective actions and sends email notifications to the responsible
party to ensure that issues are addressed and proper customer
follow-up is initiated.
“All our member companies are required to achieve AS9100 (aerospace)
and ISO 9001:2000 registration,” said MAMA vice president Craig
Wolff. “With CIS,
auditors can see everything within a company’s management system in
real time allowing them to provide ongoing meaningful input, thus
making it easier and quicker to achieve the audit.”
“We are honored that MAMA recommends us to its respected
manufacturing members,” said Peter Sanderson, president of TQMS, “We
believe that CIS can positively contribute to each company
individually as well as to the success of the organization as a
whole.”
Through a grant from the state of Michigan, MAMA assists its members
in achieving AS9100 registration by subsidizing the cost of the
necessary training.
The mission of the Michigan Aerospace Manufacturers Association is
to serve and represent the interests of Michigan’s aerospace
manufacturing firms with a single, unified voice while providing
educational programs and industry research to its members.
It also serves to promote the capabilities of the Michigan
manufacturing community to the global aerospace industry. MAMA is
headquartered at 549 Ottawa Avenue, Suite 307, Grand Rapids,
Michigan. Phone: 616-726-6770. Web site:
